A Nintendo eShop card adds prepaid funds to your Nintendo account balance, which you can then spend on anything in the Nintendo eShop — games, DLC, in-game currency, or a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Redeeming the code only takes a minute. Here's exactly how to do it.
Redeem on your Nintendo Switch
From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon to open the eShop.
Select the user account you want the funds added to.
On the left side of the eShop, scroll down and select Redeem Code (on newer menus, tap your profile icon in the top-right, then choose Redeem Code).
Enter the 16-character download code printed on your card, then select Redeem / OK.
Your funds are added to that account's balance instantly and are ready to spend.
Redeem online (no console needed)
You can also add funds from a browser. Sign in to your Nintendo Account, open the Shop Menu, choose Redeem a code, enter the 16-character code, and confirm. The balance lands on the same account you sign in with, so make sure it's the account you use on your Switch.
Where do I find my code?
When you buy from NintendoCardDelivery, your code is emailed to you as a PDF within minutes of purchase — there's no physical card to wait for and no trip to the store. Open the PDF and use the 16-character code exactly as shown.
Code won't redeem? Common fixes
"This code can't be used in your region." eShop cards are region-locked. A US eShop card only works on a Nintendo Account set to the United States — see our region & compatibility guide.
"Code has already been used." Each code redeems once. If you haven't redeemed it, contact our support team with your order details.
Funds went to the wrong profile. The balance is tied to whichever account you selected at step 2 — switch to that user to spend it.
Typing errors. Copy the 16-character code carefully from the PDF and watch for look-alike characters (0 vs O, 1 vs I).
